Rifle Propellant

Reloading Solutions carry an extensive line of rifle powders for reloading from Alliant, Hodgdon, IMR and Vihtavuori to suit most cartidges from 17 Hornet all the way up to the might 600 Nitro Express.

Smokeless powders, or propellants, are essentially mixtures of chemicals designed to burn under controlled conditions at the proper rate to fire a projectile from a firearm. Smokeless rifle powders are made in two forms: extruded kernels (small cylinders and spherical (small spheres or discs).
Single-base smokeless powders derive their main source of energy from nitrocellulose. The energy released from double-base smokeless powders is derived from both nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine.

Because each propellant is specifically engineered to have different burn rates and performance characteristics, NEVER BLEND OR MIX DIFFERENT PROPELLANTS, AND USE ONLY THE PROPELLANT AND QUANTITY RECOMMENDED BY OFFICIALLY PUBLISHED LOAD DATA.
