Redding Competition Bushing Die Set, 6MM/22-250 Remington
The Redding Competition Bushing Neck Die Set includes a Competition Bushing Neck Sizer Die, a Body Die, and a Competition Bullet Seater. The Neck Sizing Die and Bullet Seater feature micrometer adjustments. Neck Sizing Bushings are sold separately.
Competition Bushing Neck Die - With this die, the cartridge case is completely supported and aligned with the sizing bushing before the sizing process begins. As the sizing process starts, the cartridge case remains supported in the tightly chambered, sliding sleeve as it moves upward while the resizing neck bushing self-centers on the case neck.
The decapping rod is maintained in precise alignment by using the internal parts of the die as a linear support much like that of a firing pin.
Meanwhile, the micrometer adjustment of the bushing position delivers precise control to the desired amount of neck length to be sized.
The die was designed for use by Competition Shooters who have meticulously prepared their cartridge cases and do not wish to use a sizing expander button, however, carbide size button kits are available separately.
Body Die - Designed to full length resize the case body and bump the shoulder position for proper chambering without disturbing the case neck. They are made without internal parts and intended for use only to resize cases which have become increasingly difficult to chamber after repeated firing and neck sizing
Competition Bullet Seater - This patented design quickly established itself as the "state of the art" in straight line bullet seaters and beat the concentricity problems inherent in all other seating dies of this type. Tighter manufacturing tolerances were made possible due to the details of the floating stem system. The bullet guide to seating stem fit is so precise that the seating stem can actually be demonstrated to "float" on a column of air. The seating stem is precision ground to exactly match the bullet diameter.
Alignment and accuracy are enhanced by the cartridge cases and bullet being completely supported and aligned in a close fitting precision ground sleeve before the bullet seating begins.
The micrometer is calibrated in .001" increments. It also has a zero set feature that allows you to zero the micrometer to your rifle or favorite seating depth.
Notes: Neck sizing bushings are NOT included.
